The Trantec S2.4–HDX is a Handheld Microphone Transmitter – part of the S2.4 range from Trantec. The Microphone has a handy LCD display for easy setup and confirmation of settings. Operating in the 2.4GHz band it can transmit up to 30m to either the single channel or dual channel receiver.

Normally purchased as a hand held replacement for the S2.4 system it could also be used to expand the quantity of microphones on a system but don’t forget you can only use one microphone at a time on any channel. The microphone uses GFSK modulation and won’t suffer from RF noise like some lesser analogue systems and the 16 bit, 38.4kHz audio provide faithful audio reproduction which is further enhanced by the frequency response that has been shaped for vocal use.

Each handheld transmitter needs 2 x AA batteries to operate and will give an average usage time of 5 hours. This assumes you use a good quality alkaline battery which is the same for most wireless microphones. The pick up pattern is cardioid from the dynamic head which results in clear audio pickup from the front whilst rejecting noise from the rear and sides.
