The Citronic CU-POD is the ideal choice if you want a USB ‘studio style’ Condenser Microphone at a reasonable price, and it’s great for home podcasting or vocal recording. The internal circuitry includes a built-in USB audio interface which allows you to record with either a PC or a Mac computer. It’s plug-and-play so installation is simple and straightforward. There is a built in volume control and echo effect as well as a headphone output so you can monitor yourself, and you also get a foam pop filter included so you can ensure that your recordings are plosive free!

The CU-POD features a cardioid electret condenser capsule protected by a steel grille. The internal circuitry is housed in a black anodised die-cast body so it’s fairly robust. The electret capsule is USB bus powered and the unit comes supplied with a USB lead and it’s own mini folding tripod stand so you’ll be ready to record straight out of the box. Should you wish to use your own mic stand for recording then you’re also covered as there is a clamp included for connecting to standard mic stands.
