This kit comes with two Blink 500 TX wireless transmitters which feature built-in microphones. They’re small enough to be clipped onto a shirt or hidden inside your pocket, or they can even be used as a handheld or set on a desk. They also double up as traditional bodypack transmitters when used with the included SR-M1 omnidirectional clip-on lavalier microphones, so no matter what the requirements you’ll be able to record crystal-clear professional audio.

One of the issues faced when recording sound for video is controlling the audio levels. Depending on the person speaking, you may need to raise or lower the levels based on how loudly they talk. That’s why the Blink 500 TX transmitters have easy to use gain buttons to raise or lower the levels as required, and the LED displays let you know just where they’re set. The Blink 500 TX units have an internal lithium battery which offers 5 hours of use from a single charge, and the USB-C port can be used to recharge the units if you’re out in the field with a portable USB battery pack (not included).

The Blink 500 TX are simple to use; you turn them on, and they work. But in the background, the Blink 500 system is doing a lot to ensure excellent performance. It transmits on the interference free 2.4GHz spectrum, and it automatically switches channels to avoid static interference and audio dropouts. The 10-milliwatt power of the transmitters give an impressive range of 98ft (30 meters) with obstacles, and up to 164ft (50 meters) in unrestricted open spaces.

Both TRS and TRRS output cables are included so if you have a DSLR, mirrorless, or other type of camera, or a smartphone or tablet that has a headphone jack then the system will work perfectly. The Blink 500 RX receiver can be shoe mounted onto your camera and because it’s a dual channel receiver, you’ll be ready to record from both transmitters simultaneously. The receiver output provides a strong noise-free level, so you can adjust the input level of your camera to avoid hearing the noisy pre-amp.
